When it comes to patio cleaning, having the right pressure cleaning equipment is vital, and also very important because with the wrong pressure cleaning equipment, you could very well cause more harm then good when patio cleaning. Pressure cleaning your deck can be a challenge, and one should make sure that proper pressure cleaning safety is being followed at all times. Reading your pressure cleaning equipment manual should provide some basic and good advice on the precautions that should be taken before starting your patio cleaning.

When it comes to patio cleaning and pressure cleaning equipment, you will want to make sure that you have the right attachments for your pressure cleaning equipment. And by right attachments I am talking about the end tips for your pressure cleaning equipment, which comes in different grades. The reason this is important is decks are made from all different materials. If you attempting patio cleaning with a 15 degree tip on a soft wood deck, then your pressure cleaning equipment will more then likely tear right through it. The whole point of doing this little chore is to clean, not destroy. So make sure you find out before you attempt the patio cleaning with your pressure cleaning equipment.

Chemicals and patio cleaners will also come into play when patio cleaning. Again, what you can use will all depend on what your patio is made of. If you can use a stronger tip with your pressure cleaning equipment, then you will probably not need any patio cleaner, unless you need the patio cleaner to remove or get rid of mold. Mold can definitely cause a problem and unless you keep on your patio cleaning, it is definitely something to keep an eye out for. Pressure cleaning equipment can take off most of that kind of stuff, but keeping it off year round will probably take some sort of patio cleaner.

Patio cleaning with pressure cleaning equipment is by far the best way to get the job done. The nice thing about pressure cleaning equipment is that most places like home deopt or lowes will rent it out to you. Or you could always buy your pressure cleaning equipment. It would be a good investment and you would not only be able to do patio cleaning, but things like driveway cleaning and pressure cleaning the sides of your house. The thing to remember about pressure cleaning equipment is to buy the right type of model. There are many types of pressure cleaning equipment, and I will write another post about that.

Patio cleaning can be a breeze once you get a little practice under your belt. But if you just dont have any time, or just plain dont want to do it yourself, then I would highly recommend at least having a professional pressure cleaning company to come in and do it at least twice a year. Patio cleaning is important and will not only help preserve the life of your deck, but patio cleaning will also help in keeping the molds and fungus that can be a hazard to you and your families health. I hope you take patio cleaning a little more serious now.Similar Posts:

This most important stage of pressure cleaning for decks and fences should yield the following results: a) elimination of dirt, mold, mildew and algae, b) opening up of the wood’s pores, and c) balancing of its pH to allow the sealer to bond with each fiber. Pressure cleaning your patio is very important and should not be overlooked, or left undone. If you do not pressure clean you own patio, you should at least look into having a professional do it. Remember, pressure cleaning is very important!

One more word of caution: Do not use a hot-water pressure washer on wood, as this will deface the wood by raising its grain sharply. I think that you will find your desire is well fulfilled by patio cleaning. I’m sure there’s a logical explanation for patio cleaning and I’m not getting anywhere either. Grayed surface, deformation, splitting, and loosened nails are telltale signs of wood trouble for which the elements are responsible. Make sure you retract it if heavy rain is forecast. One must allot patio cleaning for every patio cleaning equipment. Sawdust also works well if you don’t have any cat litter. However, if the stain has been there for a long time, you may have a lot of difficulty getting rid of it completely. Timing is everything. They clean using an alkaline-based compound, then neutralize it using an acidic brightener. Do-it-yourselfers must guard against applying too much pressure.

If the stain has been there for some time, then you can cover it with newspaper to help it sink into the stain. I recommend a low psi pressure washer or if you have a high-psi pressure washer be sure to keep the nozzle a good foot or more away from the wood to prevent splintering or removing the coating. You can also grind the litter or the sawdust into the stain. You might consider this an added boon: at the lowest of initial investments, you get to keep your wood looking naturally beautiful. Now that’s what I’m talking about! I sort of claim this weak suspicion. So you want to clean your driveway or patio, maybe you think the professionals are charging to much or maybe you think you will enjoy the experience. There were too many patio cleaning pros out there. Professional-grade cleaners are obtained from industrial contractor suppliers. Seriously leave it to the professionals, they have invested in the correct equipment, they know what they are doing and are worth every penny. I decided to implement a better patio cleaning plan. This is especially true of the linseed type sealer.

If you have a cat in the house, then you have everything you need for the cleaning project. A wooden grained ambiance makes the perfect patio deck and if properly cared for will always look good against the background of the backyard or at a home with a view. It’s time to select a sealer and decide how much you’re willing to spend for one. Of course, a weather deck, gazebo or patio that is mismanaged, let go or in a state of disrepair can look hideous and unbecoming of a habitat designed for tranquility.

One commonality is that they must be cleaned periodically and this means either using a garden hose or a low psi pressure washer. I should knock out a top ten list on patio cleaning. Their sealing effects are relatively “short-lived,” lasting from six to eight months, and when they expire, decks are wont to turn black. I think it could be really cool.

But just as with any other external fixture to your home, an awning will need cleaning from time to time and if you want to keep it looking at its best you will need to do this on a regular basis. Yet you can strip crude-based sealers easily and inexpensively if you want to. In general, you can hardly consider them to be worth your time and money. When using the pressure washer make sure you wear eye protection and if you add the garden hose to the washer it will keep the pump cool. Cat litter is one of the best cleansing agents for oil. I have a feeling there are a lot of other people who like pressure washing equipment and I’m still undecided on this. This is because it acts as an absorbent for the excess oil on the surface of the driveway. I can’t believe you haven’t seen this already, but your patio cleaning basically defines you. Spray on the cleaner and sweep it with a stiff bristled brush. Experienced contractors, of course, know better. I thought that would be my final point, but your pressure washing equipment doesn’t really define you. While decks and fences made of pressurized wood, cedar, cypress and other exotic woods are safe from insect infestation, but they are not invulnerable to weather’s corrosive effects. Many people do not realize that they can use common household cleaners to remove oil stains from asphalt or concrete. You may have to deal first with the complexities of whether the deck and fence cleaning compound should be acidic, alkaline, or pH neutral. Here are some simple ways to do it. Sealer Type Selection Your deck is all prepped up for sealing — bright and clean as a whistle. A lot of water is needed for this technique, and it’s important to apply the right amount of pressure and have the right kind of cleaning solution. This isn’t to say that you should leave the awning out in all types of weather though, especially not if you want to keep it clean and looking good all year round. I assume pressure washing equipment but I could be wrong. As of now, there is really no leading pressure washing equipment so most people choose patio cleaning based on recommendations. Don’t let patio cleaning equipment foster a distaste for pressure washing equipment. The products offered by home improvement retailers and hardware stores don’t measure up to these cleaners in terms of performance. And the worst thing is once you have started it then you have to finish it, you can’t leave it half finished can you.

Pressure cleaning your patio is a very important part in the upkeep of your home. Whether you plan on selling soon or are just wanting to keep your house looking nice, you should invest in either having a professional pressure clean you patio, or invest in the pressure cleaning equipment you’ll need to do it yourself. You also want to make sure you learn all you can about pressure cleaning, as it is no joke and can cause serious damage it done improperly. Just remember, take time to figure out a good pressure cleaning schedule!Similar Posts:

So, you’re in the market for pressure cleaning equipment but are a little confused as to what to look for in a good pressure washer. Well, today is your lucky day as we’ll be giving you some tips on things you will want to make sure your pressure cleaning equipment has for the kind of job you plan to do.

Now, before we get started, you’re gonna be looking at about $200-$600 for a decent, reliable pressure washer. You’ll also have to choose between hot or cold pressure washing equipment and then between an electrical or fuel based pressure washer. It will all depend on what you plan to do, or what kind of pressure cleaning you plan on doing. If it is for general home use, I would suggest an electrical pressure washer. Now, if it is for more heavy duty usage and you need some mobility, you should go with gas or diesel based pressure cleaning equipment.

The next important factort in pressure washing equipment is what kind of PSI does it have? For your general house use, you’ll be wanting a PSI of around 1500, which is pretty standard. Once again, if you plan on using it for big stuff, you’ll want to be looking for a much higher PSI, of at least 3000 PSI and remember, the highter the PSI the stronger your pressure washer will be which means it will be just that more dangerous. Never treat you pressure cleaning equipment lightly as it can cause serious damage.

Next on the checklist for your next pressure washer is the GPM, which stands for gallons per minute. This is kind of like you PSI as the higher the GPM, the more pressure your power washer will have. Your GPM in a nutshell indicates the flwo of water from your pressure cleaning equipment.

I guess what it all really boils down to is what you plan on pressure cleaning. If it’s going to be used for things around the home, like your car or patio, you can go with a low PSI, low GPM electrical pressure washer. ON the other hand, if your plans include some of the heavy duty stuff, or even for business applications, then go with a gas or diesel based power washer with a higher PSI and GPM.

When it comes to a good place to buy pressure washing equipment, I would recommend starting with the internet. If you don’t care if it’s new, then I would suggest starting on auction sites, like Ebay. You could also just google something like “discount pressure cleaning equipment.” If you’re in a hurry and don’t want to wait for shipping, look in your local paper and see if any of the big hardware stores like Home Depot or Lowes is having a sale. No matter what you end up on doing, make sure you do a thorough review on the specific pressure cleaning equipment you plan on buying.Similar Posts:

There are many uses for your pressure washer, including what I’m going to talk about today. Pressure cleaning your house siding to get it ready for a paint job is super important, as it will effect the quality of the paint job. The thing with pressure cleaning your siding is that you have to be careful, and there are quite a few precautions to keep in mind. The most important thing is to not take pressure cleaning lightly, as pressure cleaners can cause damage to both you and property.

Whether you’re having a pro paint your house, or you plan on doing it yourself, a good pressure cleaning needs to be done. The first thing you will want to figure out, if you don’t already know, is what kind of siding is on your house. Different pressure cleaning techniques are applied to different types of siding. Your siding will also determine the amount of pressure you’ll use during your pressure cleaning. In general, you’ll want to use a 15 degree tip and stand about a foot away.

On a side note, the type of tip you should use is really dependent on how strong your pressure cleaner is. If you pressure cleaner has a PSI of 1500, you should be okay with a 15 degree tip. If your pressure cleaner is putting out more around 3000 PSI, you’ll want to go with a less strong tip, like 25 degrees.

Now, you’ll want to make sure that your house is nice and clean, which is why you are going to pressure clean it three times. Yes, you heard me correct. You will be pressure cleaining your siding three times. And on each pressrue cleaning you will do this process: Rinse it off, spray with a cleaner that will work for your siding, then pressure wash it for the last step. Then you will let it dry. You will do this pressure cleaning process three times. Why so thourough? Remember, the paint job depends on how clean your house siding is.

As far as the safety precautions are concerned, here are the few pressure cleaning precautions you must keep in mind. Since you will be pressure cleaning your siding, and more then likely have a two story house, you will probably be tempted to use a ladder. Don’t. This could result in physical damage. Your pressure cleaner should have no trouble reaching the second story, although obviously it won’t be as strong. Next, make sure you cover your windows or other things on the outside of your house that can be damaged. No point in saving money by pressrue cleaning your house yourself only to turn around and damage something else. Also, like I said before, never take pressure cleaning lightly.Similar Posts:

Today, we’re gonna talk about using your pressure washer to give your home a nice bath, or in other words a good pressure cleaning. This is a great idea for those of you looking to get your house repainted, and for those of you who arent, its still not a bad idea just to keep your home looking nice. You can pressure clean, or power wash, most materials on the sides of houses. There are a few precautions when it comes to pressure cleaning that we’ll get to in a minute.

First thing you should do is make sure you have all your pressure cleaning safety precautions covered. You’ll need safety goggles to protect your eyes. Safety wise, you will also want to keep a couple of things in mind. You’ll want to make sure that you never point the pressure washer wand at anyone, or yourself for that matter. Most pressure washers operate at around 1500 psi, and at 3000 psi on the high end. Believe it or not, you could hurt someone. Not only do you not want to point the wand at a person, but you definitely do not want to blast windows or other things that can be damaged, or cause a hazard, like electrical outlets and such. You should always cover up the surrounding area you are pressure cleaning with tarps or something similar, to help keep the water out. Also, remove items that could get in your way or cause you to trip while you are pressure cleaning.

A couple of things to keep in mind before you start your pressure cleaning. You dont want to use your pressure washer to remove paint from your home. If you blast it hard enough you probably could remove paint, but that kind of pressure cleaning will damage most sidings, so dont do it! It will also be very important to make sure you know what material your siding is made from. This is important because it will determine what kind of pressure washer you should buy or rent. For instance, if you have aluminium or wood siding, you’re gonna want to stick with a medium strength pressure washer, with a psi of no more than 1500. One other thing to keep in mind is the age of your home. If your home has painted sides and it was made in the 80’s or earlier, chances are that the paint used was lead based, which can be harmful when pressure cleaning your home and you get runoff. It would be best if you left your pressure wash to the pros. Until you have it repainted at least.

When you actually start pressure cleaning your house, you’ll want to make sure that you keep the distance between your wand and the house at a minimum of 12 inches. When you start, it is a good idea to start at a safe distance of at least a yard and then slowly move forward to gauge the strength of your pressure washer. Some washers are stronger then others and if you’re renting your pressure washer for your
pressure cleaning then you would definitely want to stick to this. Also, while the power washer is running, make sure you keep both hands on it to remain in control and never ever use it while you are on a ladder. The last thing to keep in mind while you are pressure cleaning is to never point the washer up. This will cause water to get pushed under your siding and can cause decaying and possibly molding. These are just a few pressure cleaning techniques to keep in mind.Similar Posts:

If you’re one of those people that got tired of washing your deck down or pressure cleaning your patio with just a plain old hose because of the piss poor job it did, or if you don’t want to pay to have it done, you probably went out and bought a pressure washer. Now that you have a pressure washer, you probably have no idea how to use it. Well, first things first, I would suggest reading the manual! It will contain some of the basic stuff, like features of that particular pressure washer and some safety tips as well. Some basic safety tips would be not pointing the pressure washer toward someone while its running, wearing the proper attire such as goggles and jeans, etc. As you will see here, patio cleaning is a breeze with a pressure washer.

So, once you have the basics down, and the basics are different for each machine, we can get down to the actual patio or deck washing tips. Well start with the folks who have real wood patios. When it comes to pressure washing real wood patios you have to be careful because if you use the wrong tip, you can cut into the wood. Infact, the best thing to do when you use your power wahser for patio cleaning for the first time is to take a peice of wood and try the washer out on it. This way you can get a feel for how powerful your pressure washer is, and how much the wood can take or if it gets damaged. You’ll also want to try out your different grades for your tips. The last thing you’ll want to do is to start your patio cleaning with the wrong tip!

When It comes to your tips, you’ll notice that the smaller the number, the more powerful the stream from your pressure washer will be. Now if your tips dont have numbers on them and are color coordinated, you’ll need to reference your manual for the grade. Your typical degrees are 15, 25, and 40. You may get a 0 Degree tip, but I wouldn’t recommend using it. When it comes to cleaning patios, I would go with the 15 degree, unless your patio is made with a softer wood. If you do have a softer wood patio, I would recommed using a patio cleaner first. Not only will it allow you to clean it with a softer grade, but it will also help sanitize your patio. Also make sure you only use the cleaner on the patio boards, not the rails. Of course, if it comes down to you just wanting to play it safe, you can just play it safe and spray your patio down twice with the softest grade. Its better to be safe with your patio cleaning then sorry!

Now, if you have one of the newer patios made from a composite, you can pretty much blast those things pretty hard. Patio cleaning with composite patios is pretty sweet. I still wouldn’t use the 0 degree tip, but I would say you’d be prettty safe with the 15 degree tip. I’ve heard of composite patios being blasted safely at 3000 PSI, with hot or cold water. If you have a composite patio, you’ll also notice that it doesn’t need to be cleaned nearly as much as the traditional wood patios. The only problem when it comes to
patio cleaning a composite patio is that little things tend to get stuck inbetween the cracks.

This is a fairly general overview of patio cleaning with your pressure washer. We plan on adding some more in depth techniques eventually, so stay tuned for more patio cleaning ideas!Similar Posts:

One of the more advanced, and more difficult jobs you can do with your pressure washer is cleaning concrete. It is more difficult for a couple of reasons. First, stains on conrete can sometimes be near impossible to remove, all depending on where the stain came from of course. Second, When pressure cleaning concrete you will more then likely be using chemicals, which can up the stakes as far as safety is concerned. It is not something that you should be doing unless you have read up on all the details of the chemical you are using.

When cleaning the concrete, you’ll want to have your pressure set at a minimum of 3000 PSI, and you want your water at 180 degrees. This is the best combination for cleaning concrete. When you get your concrete cleaner, you’ll probably notice that its main ingredient is acid. Most concrete cleaners you’ll have to mix with water, usually a 50/50 mix. There are different strengths of concrete cleaners, and you’ll want to start with the weakest strength, and then work your way up to the stronger formulas. You really should only use the strongest removers when there is a stain that just wont come up. Just remember, the stronger the formula, the more dangerous it will be, but also the more effective it will be at cleaning concrete.

If you’re gonna be working on some of that fancy, colored concrete, it would be a good idea to test out your concrete cleaning blend on a little patch of the concrete, preferrably in the corner. Let it sit for a minute, then wash it off. Pretty much all the concrete cleaning formulas out there contain some degree of bleach, which can reak havoc on colored concrete.

Hopefully your pressure washer has a hydro twister type option, as that makes cleaning concrete just that much easier. But remember, when using your hydro twister to clean your concrete, that it simply breaks up all the tough dirt and grime and then brings it to the surface. You’re still gonna want to go back over it once with just the regular setting and give it a quick spray down.

One last thing, before you get started you will definitely want to cover up anything that you dont want damaged from the concrete cleaning chemicals splashing around. You’ll also want to make sure you put on proper attire. You’ll need some form of eye protection, and you’ll definitely want to put on some jeans. It may not be a bad idea to get some rubber boots as well. Concrete cleaning is a bit more advanced and I would recommend maybe having a pro do it if you dont feel comfortable with some of the things mentioned here.Similar Posts:

If you own your own home, then you need to look into a pressure washer. Whether you just moved in, or have been there 10 years, you would be suprised how a good pressure cleaning can help make your house look imaculate. I know some new homeowners don’t even think about it because their house is new, and couldn’t possibley need to be washed, but typically in new neighborhoods there is a lot of construcion going on and you might be suprised at how much dirt can accumuilate. And if you have owned your home for a while, and thinking that your house has lost some of its luster, instead of getting a new paint job, just give it a pressure wash and you will find that you may not need that paint job after all.

Pressure washers have a wide variety of uses, from your car to your deck, to your lawn equipment, and anything else that sits outside and collects dirt. I hate sweeping or hosing down the driveway, but being able to pressure clean it with a pressure washer, it is a breeze. I’m sure you can think of a few good uses around your house, and a few places that could use a good pressure cleaning!

When it comes time to get your pressure washer, I would stick with the old addage that you get what you pay for. So make sure you look at a more known brand of pressure washers, and make sure that it isn’t too cheap. I’m not saying to break the bank to get a pressure washer, I would just make sure you’re not too cheap either. It also couldn’t hurt to find some reviews, or maybe ask an associate at the store you plan on buying your pressure washer from what he or she would recommend. When it comes to pressure cleaning, you want the best you can afford!

Once you find and buy your pressure washer, you’re gonna want to familiarize yourself with how it works. There’s no beter way to do that then by reading the manual. Pressure washers are not toys and if they are operated improperly, it can cause damage to somebody, or something, like your house. So make sure you read your manual. It will also help teach you any sort of unique features that your pressure washer has, as evey pressure washer is different. Most manuals will also cover all the basic saafety rules associated with pressure cleaning. For the last time, read the manual!

This should be enough info for you to at least make an educated purchase, and get you started. Once you have your pressure washer, read the manual, learn the basics of your pressure washer, then get ready for more pressure cleaning tips.Similar Posts:
